Weather

It's important to understand what weather you'll be experiencing when you visit Paris. The clothing to pack, the sites you may have to skip on (or must see) and even the hotel to stay in can all be affected by the season you visit Paris.
Spring in Paris (March to June) is a pleasant time to visit weather wise, but if you're averse to crowds be aware that many other tourists are also seeking to share this experience with you. Pollen levels are also higher during this season.

Summer (June to September) can get really hot, as much as 30 Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) or more. Air-conditioning in Paris is not as common as in cities in North America, and usually not as effective. It also rains occasionally, which brings a welcome relief to the hot temperatures, but can cause chilly nights so it's helpful to pack a light sweater or jacket. Most of the locals leave the city on vacation during summer, so it's common to see stores closed for the summer.

Autumn/Fall (September to December)
The temperature becomes milder, and rarely falls below freezing. The days can be dark, but festive celebrations during this time do a lot to add to the energy during this period.

Winter (December to March)
The temperature becomes markedly colder, with occasional snow in the city. Temperatures often dip below freezing. This is a romantic time to visit Paris and the crowds thin out during these months leaving you more space to enjoy the city and it's attractions.
